We are delighted to announce the new NiSi Natural Night light pollution filter range in Cork as part of the PhotoExpo trade shows. It is an exciting and new product that has been developed for anyone with an interest in Cityscapes at night, night landscape photography or shooting a star filled sky without the orange glow of the sodium lights. This is the first time anyone in Ireland can see and touch the filter in their hands. We have been very impressed and I am sure you will be too.
Today, we are showing the 100mm and the 150mm versions. These are available right now, with the 77mm and 82mm screw in versions coming in a fortnights time, week of the 12th June. See the images below to see just how much sodium light pollution has been stripped from the image. This leave a more natural image and your are able to make out tones and shades of colour much better.
The NiSi 100x100mm Natural Night Filter is a new addition to the NiSi range and our first filter exclusive for night photography. Between mercury vapour, sodium, Low CRI streetlights, there are many undesirable wavelengths of light that pollute the night sky. The glow from these can keep your camera from seeing the sky properly and effect your night images. Because of this, NiSi has created the Natural Night Filter to block the most common wavelengths of light pollution. Like the rest of the NiSi line, this filter is made of high quality, precision annealed, optical glass. Its surface is finely ground and polished to ensure sharpness for today’s ultra high megapixel cameras.
The NiSi Natural Night Filter features NiSi’s unique NANO Coating technology. This multi-layer coating reduces reflection on the surface of the filter to help with ghosting and flare. It also includes a protective layer that makes it easy to wipe off water, dust, and oil from the filter without worrying about scratching your glass. The NANO Coating process achieves this without loss in sharpness.
